Tip #1: Parking Information When Visiting The Museum

The Children’s Museum in Greenville does not have free parking for museum visitors. In addition to that, street parking is difficult to find with how busy the road is right in front of the museum.

We always park in the paid parking lot behind the museum. It is $2 and a short walk to the museum. Bonus: bring your library books to return because Greenvilles Main library branch is right next door.

Tip #2 Bringing Socks for the Climber

The climber is the “center stage” of the museum. My kids could play on just hat for HOURS. We always pack a pair of socks because I prefer they not be barefoot on such a heavily trafficked play-set. If you’re a mild germaphobe like me, you’ll agree!

Tip # 3: Splash Area

On the bottom floor (so level 1 if you are going on the elevator) there is a super fun splash area! The nice thing is that they have aprons for children if you dont want their clothes wet, but those can be all used up if its busy. We like to play at the water stations and then head right outside to the outdoor playground to dry off in the summer.

Tip # 4: Scheduled Daily Events

While I am not great at this (I am more of a fly by the seat of my pants kind of person) we love accidentally timing our visit for one of the museums daily and weekly visits! They have story time, STEM lab, and an arts and crafts room! You can check out exactly what times and what they are offering HERE. And who knows, maybe I will get better at this too ๐Ÿ˜‰

Tip # 5: WARNING! The Gift Shop

Like many museums and zoos, the exit is strategically placed through the gift shop. Smart. But not so great when you have 4 little ones who are tired, hungry, and see that one toy that they have always desperately needed. Every. Single. Time.

I combat this by telling them in advance that we will not be going to the store this time. It helps wrap their sweet minds around the idea softens the blow when it’s time to leave. We do occasionally shop there, but it’s not practical to do that every time we come to the museum.

Conclusion

Plan an unforgettable family adventure at the Children’s Museums in Greenville, SC. Discover insider tips on parking, climbing fun, splash zones, and packing for a day of exploration. Get ready to make magical memories!
