A Wedding Day Full Of Fun And Surprises

I want to warn you that this post about Bri and Matts Congaree and Penn Wedding could get a little lengthy. Honesty, I am writing this the Monday night after their wedding and I still feel like I am on cloud nine! From the crazy weather forecast (what’s new, Florida?) to the sweet little puppy. It was a blast!

When I think about the kind of people I want to photograph, Bri and Matt come to my mind. Their wedding day was filled with so much fun (and jokes… on me haha), love, laughter, people almost on fire… there was a lot!

Hail. Thunderstorms. 20 MPH Winds

That was the forecast for Saturday literally 2 days before the wedding. Now, I know that no matter what the weather was going to be, these two were going to have a beautiful wedding. There is just so much love in this family, it would have been perfect even in a hurricane. But… I also know that Congaree and Penn is so special to Bri and Matt, and the beauty of this farm wouldn’t be quite the same with torrential hail hitting us!

I’m sure you can imagine my relief when I woke up to a forecast that had a break in the bad weather during their first look! Side note, this is a HUGE reason first looks are so important! Read more reasons HERE. Long story short… every minute that went by the weather cleared more and more. We literally had SUNSHINE peaking through Congaree and Penns oak tree during the ceremony. SUNSHINE!

Another side note… anyone else feel like meteorologists have the easiest jobs ever? They can get it totally wrong super consistently but never lose their job…. something to think about there.

The rain and thunderstorm finally did show up, but thankfully it was right after dinner was served. What a blessing!

The Best Times At Congaree And Penn

We need to start with the elephant in the room. If you bring your adorable pup to your wedding, be prepared for me to take a ton of pictures of her! Bri brought her sweet baby Lennon to walk her down the aisle and I. am. obsessed. The cuteness doesn’t stop there, because Bri also had custom stickers made out of her dogs to use on her favors, and a beautiful watercolor painting of her furbabies. It was THE SWEETEST thing.

One thing you have to know about these two is that Bri has a huge love for animals, and Matt has a huge love for Bri. Together they have 3 dogs, 1 cat, and a tortoise. And that right there is my favorite part of their wedding day. I love being a witness and serving couples with the most beautiful hearts on one of the most important days of their life. From Bri’s immense love of animals to the way Matt teared up at the beautiful gift Bri got him. I am seriously so lucky to have become friends with these two and their families.
