When I arrived at their home in Greer, it already felt full. A little boy who was full of energy and curiosity. A little girl who danced through the rooms like she owned them. A mama whose love for them all was so clear, and a dad who balanced calm and playfulness so naturally.

We spent the afternoon making photographs of what life looked like right before it changed again. A quiet moment in the nursery. A giggle on the couch. A belly that carried the next piece of their family’s story.

And then, a few weeks later, I returned. This time, they were five. The baby had arrived and somehow everything felt both new and familiar at the same time. Big brother and sister were learning their roles, sometimes holding back, sometimes leaning in. Mom and Dad were tired, but glowing in the way only new parents can be.

There is something sacred about getting to document both sides of that doorway. The waiting and the arrival. The expectation and the becoming.

This is why I love in-home maternity sessions. Not for the perfect poses or polished outfits, but because they help tell the whole story. The before and the after. The love that was already there and the new life that made it grow.
