Mini Horse Photoshoot Near Greenville, South Carolina

I love being a photographer. Especially when I am called upon to do something a little different. Well, this absolutly precious mini horse photoshoot with horse and owner was exactly that! A few of my favorite images are below, and you will get a peak at the cuteness! The backstory is just as special.

A special neighbor

For years, a tiny horse named Sonny lived across the street from me. He was the kind of neighbor who made you smile just by being out in the pasture. He was curious, fuzzy, and full of personality. Eventually, our neighbors sold him, and I never knew where he ended up.

So imagine my surprise when I show up to the photoshoot of Sdyney and her new horse. Sydney had with a lifelong dream of owning a mini horse and she wanted to commemorate her dream coming true with a photoshoot. Her little horse was named Sonny.

Photographing a mini horse and his beautiful owner

Without either of us knowing the connection, Sydney had bought the little pony from across the street. The very same one I used to watch grazing in the field is now her dream come true.

This session felt like such a full-circle moment for both of us. Sydney was radiant, full of pride and gentleness, and Sonny clearly adored her. You could see how much this pony means to her in every moment: the way she held his lead rope, the way he leaned into her, the way they seemed so completely at ease together.

Photographing this mini horse session felt like photographing something sacred, a girl and the dream she never let go of, now living and breathin right beside her.
